The Stop Government Waste Committee (the Original Save Your Courthouse Committee) thanks all the people who support transparency in government.

No matter the result of this Election, the Medina County citizens have won. The citizens have saved the 1969 Courthouse from being demolished and saved the Medina County Law Library. Further, the citizens of the City of Medina have told the City that taxpayers do not want City-owned property to be given away.

The Committee thanks all the people who have contributed to those efforts.

We are disappointed in the results (102 votes too short with only 6% of the voters voting - only 1256 people voted out of 18,000). We are also disappointed that the City decided to have a vote when people were not aware there was an election and that the City copied our slogans and signs. However, as we did in this campaign we will continue to base our statements on the written record and watch out for taxpayer money and stop government waste.
